JotPsych needed a way to transform documentation from a burden to a force multiplier

As the threat of visual documentation becoming an afterthought mounted, Jackson identified the need for a solution that would condense the diagram creation process from hours to minutes, without requiring extensive training or expensive licenses. Shortly into his search, Jackson discovered Eraser, and following a quick 15-minute demo, he couldn't wait to get started.

Jackson requires every product sprint to begin with an Eraser diagram as the first deliverable. His Engineering team easily maps complex features using boxes, arrows, and color coordination before writing code.

For instance, when building their speaker recognition system, the team diagrammed audio flow, AI processing logic, and transcription handling first. This visual approach turned hours-long verbal explanations into instantly understandable visuals. Jackson's team now moves from concept to code with complete architectural alignment.

Real-time collaboration

Jackson’s team also uses Eraser for simultaneous collaboration. During workflow mapping sessions, engineers diagram technical architecture while Sales documents customer needs on the same infinite canvas. 

For example, during one session mapping clinical workflow, three team members worked in parallel: one mapped provider workflows, another tracked compliance requirements, and a third identified technical dependencies. This replaced sequential reviews that previously stretched planning across multiple meetings.

Jackson's sales team built their entire cold-calling framework in Eraser, using color-coded indicators to track prospect status. 

During discovery calls, they sketch customer workflows in real-time, showing prospects exactly how JotPsych fits their clinic operations. The real value comes from the shared visual language: when sales sketches a customer need during a call, they can immediately share it with engineers who understand it without translation. This eliminates the game of telephone between departments where customer requirements get distorted as they move from Sales to Product to Engineering.

With Eraser, Jackson now leverages diagramming as a force multiplier across his team. Sales demonstrates complex workflows in real-time, solidifying relationships that would otherwise stall on technical explanations. Engineering builds exactly what customers need because requirements arrive as diagrams, not lengthy documents. And Product solidifies internal alignment on UI/UX through in-depth and digestible visuals.

Today, Jackson's lean team coordinates with the efficiency of a much larger organization. They achieved 1300% growth in 2024 while maintaining the agility to iterate quickly on new features. This scale would typically require extensive project management overhead, but JotPsych achieves it entirely through visual alignment.

Looking forward, Jackson is eager to explore Eraser's automated documentation features that sync with GitHub repositories, ensuring diagrams update automatically as code changes.
